Request Jackson County Arrest Narratives
The booking roster does not contain the officer's probable-cause narrative, evidence detail, or full incident report. Ask the agency that made the arrest. A Medford Police report belongs with Medford Police even when Jackson County Jail handled the booking. For a JCSO record, use the Jackson County request form. Name the incident or arrest report, CAD log, 911 audio, body-camera video, booking sheet, or movement and release record separately. Give a date range, location, known names, incident number, and preferred format. Oregon law permits actual search, review, redaction, and copy costs, so request an estimate before work exceeds a stated limit.
Route city reports to the city. Medford Police uses an account-based records portal and can be reached at 541-770-4783 or Records@cityofmedford.org. Ashland Police is at 1155 East Main Street and uses its city request route. Central Point Police is at 155 South Second Street, and its current form distinguishes police records from general city records. Oregon State Police uses its own public-records portal for state-highway and other OSP incidents.
A precise request reduces delay. State whether inspection or an electronic copy will meet the need. Identify the event time and place, arresting officer or agency when known, and each media type sought. The custodian may redact protected victim, juvenile, medical, personal-identifier, or active-investigation details while releasing the rest.

The roster may also show age, race, sex, height, weight, hair and eye color, plus an FBI-number field that may be blank. It does not show the officer's narrative, victim data, housing pod, health flags, next hearing, or judge.
Jackson County Booking Photos
Jackson County's roster stopped displaying mugshots after Oregon HB 3273 took effect in 2022. A blank image area is a policy result, not a failed page load. The law restricts public booking-photo disclosure, and the official roster should not be treated as an arrest gallery.
Requesting another arrest-related record does not guarantee release of a photo. The custodian must apply Oregon Public Records Law, the booking-photo rule, and any victim, juvenile, medical, or active-investigation limits. Focus a request on the precise record needed rather than seeking images of booked people.
Booking Logs and Recent Arrests
The Jackson County booking log is a current-inmate roster, not a full historical database. Entries can change after release, transfer, or correction. A person arrested by a city department may be booked at the county jail, while state and federal agencies also lodge people there. The arresting-agency code therefore matters as much as the jail location.
If a person vanishes from the roster, record the prior SO number and call corrections for present status. Then request past booking material from JCSO and the narrative from the arresting department. State-sentenced people may move to Oregon Offender Search; federal custody requires the federal locator. Neither system replaces the Jackson County arrest record.

Jackson County Arrests Reach Medford
The county jail at 787 West 8th Street in Medford books people for agencies across Jackson County's broad service area. A city officer may create the arrest report, jail staff create the custody file, prosecutors screen the referral, and the court records the filed prosecution. Those records can sit in different cities even though they describe one event.

Qualifying fingerprints move to OSP CJIS, which links the arrest cycle to the SID and later reported disposition. A non-fingerprintable event may not reach that repository, and a disposition may post after the court file is complete. Prefer the originating custodian for each fact.
Jackson County's jail dates to 1981. A basement remodel raised its designed capacity from 230 to 292 beds in 2014, though staffing has limited usable space at times. An official 2018 statewide table reported 13,429 bookings, 9,792 releases, and an average daily population of 186. Those dated figures provide operating context only. They do not describe today's population, measure a current crime rate, or count unique people.
The jail serves agencies across roughly 2,801 square miles and eleven incorporated cities, as well as state and federal agencies. One booking can carry several charges, and the same person can have more than one booking. Treat each roster row as a custody event tied to a time and agency, not as a countywide crime statistic.
OSP Is Not Recent Arrest Search
The Oregon State Police Open Record on another person is a name-based statewide product. It reports Oregon convictions and unresolved arrests from the preceding calendar year when the statute allows release. The requester supplies the subject's name, date of birth, and current or last-known address. OSP gives the subject the proposed result and requester identity, then waits fourteen days.

Use that route for OSP-held material, not as a substitute for the live Jackson County booking roster.
For correction work, compare the disputed OSP arrest cycle with the originating police report and the court judgment. OSP cannot create a disposition that the court has not sent or matched. If the court record is complete but the repository is not, preserve the case number and signed judgment, then follow OSP CJIS challenge instructions. A name-based no-record response may also reflect the public product's limits rather than the absence of all law-enforcement contact.
Arrests Are Not Convictions
An arrest records an allegation and custody action. A conviction requires a guilty judgment by plea or verdict. Different offices create and maintain those documents, and a dismissal or acquittal can follow a valid arrest entry.
